- Donate money. Jesse is expected to pay around $18,000 in legal fees and restitution. Because he has been on trial call for the past year in an unfamiliar city, he has been unable to hold a steady job and has very little money. Donate online through PayPal by clicking here.
- Write a letter. Writing letters to prisoners is one of the best and easiest ways to offer support. Let Jesse know he is being thought of. Check out the Letters, Books and Such page for tips. His address is:
- Send Jesse a book. Jesse is interested in reading and learning a lot while in jail. He has posted a wishlist on Amazon of books he’d like to read. There are restrictions for getting books into jail, so check out our Letters, Books and Such page for more information.
- Throw a benefit. Money is not the only point of throwing a benefit and a gathering of people coming together to learn about and support those facing state repression actually benefits everyone involved. Use this as an excuse to get your friends, crushes, potential allies together. Let’s get some serious conversations about our situation started, let’s have some fun. Maybe have a pie auction, secret cafe, theatrical performance or musical performance. You can check out the Events page to get ideas from some of the events that are already being planned. We have some basic fliers about Jesse available on our Downloads page. Let us know what you come up with, and we’ll post it on this site. And send us photos!
- Get the word out. One way you can let people know about Jesse’s case is to download the basic Support Jesse James flyer and distribute it around your town. The more people who know about his case, the more support he can get.
- Stay informed about other RNC arrestees. Since spending the past year in Minneapolis awaiting trial, Jesse has gotten to know and care about many other people who are in a similar situation. A great way to support Jesse is to support his friends! Plus, state repression affects all of us, and it is important to know what new tricks they are up to.
